POSTED BY PATROL 5.6 VVEL What you see here isn’t some new 4-door version of the Mini Clubman. As misleading as the design cues are, this here is the Lifan 320, apparently the Chinese vision of what a 4-door Mini Cooper should’ve been. The Lifan Group has been around since 1992, establishing Lifan Automotive in 2003, and puking out the Lifan 320 at the Beijing Auto Show in 2008. The Lifan 320, a completely traditional hatchback with none of the trademark Mini quirkiness, is offered with a 1.3-litre engine producing a strong 80 hp and 110 Nm of torque, good for a 0-100 kph run in a blistering 14.5 seconds, with an eye-searing top speed of 155 kph. The Lifan 320 is on sale everywhere from China to Eastern Europe, but not much further West, due to obvious reasons. It does offer a glimpse of what a “sensible” Mini would become.
